Its like that throughout the ride so if you figure that the ride is 1000 feet long with 5 feet on each side for wishing there should be at least 500 billion is those waters! Ok maybe not that much but I bet everyone that threw money in there is wishing they had it back. Nickels don't grant wishes!

Bail Out

I want one! Now I don't require billions but I do require something. That’s what’s about to happen now that money is being handed out like Halloween candy to cavity filled CEOs and there once profitable companies. So when Congress gets back from Christmas break and Mr. Obama takes over I would like to be called to capital pile and have my chance at receiving my money. I just need enough to buy a corporate jet and fly to Colorado for a ski trip and a massage then head home and burn the rest in the back yard, its cold in January and at least I will know where all my money went. I’m not saying the 3 Stooges don’t need a bailout; I just hope that it works and three years from now they aren’t back at the capital pile looking for more money.

Now what?

Really what now, Change? Well of course a new guy has won a different party has won, but what's next? Are we getting free health care and our taxes being cut in half? Nope nothing will happen, we might figure out Iraq and get Bin Laden but other than that don't expect much the first four years are for getting a second term.

I have been to every obscure gym in Northeast Ohio in the past year to listen and record the ridiculous and sometimes down right lies from all of them.....you know politicians. So let me list who I got to see. Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, John McCain, Joe Liberman, Rudy Giuliani, Joe Bidden, Sarah Palin, Bruce Springsteen, Sammy Kershaw, Joe "the Plumber" and I am sure a few others that don't come to mind.
I would love to tell you where and when each one was but once you've been in a high school gym with a giant media riser, more cameras and microphones than are needed to televise a coast to coast foot race they blend together and become a cluster @#$#$%!! The democrats get my vote for best riser and audio, those guys like the media! The republicans can't turn on a mic, set a light or construct a riser that doesn’t shake to save there lives. Maybe the bias is due too that fact alone. They wont spend the extra $100 for a good audio feed or hire a company the doesn’t just set birthday party tents in peoples back yards. I hated them for that and I guess that’s why I did more McCain events than Obama. Oh well it’s about over and that scares me to death. Why? Well who’s advertising now? That’s where my paycheck is derived, so if you would like ad time it’s going to be cheap and plentiful on Wednesday. The Norton Furniture guy is going to be on every station! My Name is Mark.

The Road is closed! But Why?

I have seen way more in the short amount of time as a news photographer than I ever care to say or relive, but what happened last Wednesday on Caple road was surreal. A Dodge Neon Srt/4 driven by a high school student with minimal driving experience hit a tree at upwards of 110mph. Prior to arriving at the scene I was hearing it was really bad and began to think back on the worst of the worst. The first dead body I ever saw was pulled out of car in Tennessee maybe 1 month into my first job as a news photographer. Followed by many more but nothing even compares to that scene in quiet little Eaton Township. Ripped, shredded, destroyed, exploded, decimated, and gone! It was a car at one time but as it sits in the front yard of three homes in hundreds of pieces and 3 major chunks it just junk. Wait though two teenage kids were in that at one time why did this happen? What was going through the guys head across the street when his day stood still and he witnessed two kids die? What do the first responders do when there is nothing you can do? I'm just the news arriving afterwards to tell people who want to know and not know why the road is closed. Something’s affect me more than others but this was weird. On one side a bad decision was made by the driver and he paid for it. On the passenger side is a friend getting a ride home three days before his seventeenth birthday. So I guess if the driver was alone it would have been much easier to say he didn't hurt anyone but himself and his family with his actions but he did, an entire other family is suffering and not to mention everyone else that had to see or hear about it.
For me it’s just another horrible scene from 2008 that’s been full of tragedy. Three plane crashes, a murdered elderly man in his wheel chair just out enjoy the end of another day thinking back on life smoking a cigarette caught up in the cross fire of thug life in the city. That’s the one that’s always there I can’t shake it. A blood soaked wheel chair and a shocked community. With me again to tell people why the road is closed. How about no more road closures?

September!

What is it about September for me? It’s the worst and the best dreaded and loved curious and confusing, but most of all interesting. I can’t off the top of my head without a little research remember anything major from elementary school till about say high school but after that wow it’s full of fun. September 11th 2001 we all remember where ever you were (a ditch on Johnson road) I better put September 2 Moms birthday! September 22 2007 married the love of my life!! September 23 2007 Disney World honeymoon!! September 8 2008 crash! September 26 2006 finding out I had a job in Cleveland and I was coming home! September 1 2005 is the worst for me personally Hurricane Katrina. Never in this country should I have had to see what I saw and experienced during that week in and around New Orleans. September 24 2005 Hurricane Rita my first Hurricane landfall and a CAT 3 at that why was I so excited for that? So as September closes I can't wait for next September and what it will bring. Bring on the fall colors and oh yeah SNOW bring it October!

Spin baby Spin

So this past Monday I went back to work and what an adventure that was.....we'll just leave it there for now. As the day progressed I got dizzy something I didn’t think much of seeing I had been down and out for a week after my accident. Well then Tuesday arrived with a dizzy feeling again only it wasn't constant and for the most part not that bothersome. Until about 11:25pm on the way back to the station when a strange sensation was creeping in on me was it vertigo, something I experienced 8 years ago or was it something worse just now showing it self after the crash. Wednesday oh shit I can't see straight everything spinning and hold on I can't seem to figure out how to stand up. Doylestown we have a problem! So I call my wonderful wife of now just 6 days short of 1 year and tell her its time to visit the E.R for the second time. That goes pretty well one of those take this for 2 days if your problems don’t go away come on back we will try something else. Thursday spins by Friday arrives with no change so back to the E.R. They give me more pills and tell me check with your doctor on Monday well it’s now Saturday night and its pretty hard to look at this screen good thing I have to look a the keys to type or this would have been a much shorter post. So what’s wrong with me I don't think its normal vertigo rather its probably cervical vertigo suffered from a whiplash injury and where would that injury come from? Oh right that 55mph to 0mph in .319 seconds. But I was fine felt pretty good well that’s what I was telling myself and everyone else maybe I was hurt worse that first though maybe I should have listened to everyone else and took it a little slower but with work and health care the way it is in this country getting back to normal and trying to avoid doctors and hospitals seemed the better route it worked before. So I sit, type and spin around the room yet stationary telling everyone that reads this take care of your self first don't worry about anything else your health is the most important!!
